The President Trophy is given out at the end of each NHL regular season to the team that posts the best overall regular season record. The President Trophy was presented to the National Hockey League in 1985 by the NHL Board of Governors to award regular season excellence. The club that wins the award also receives $200,000, which is split evenly between the team and players.
