Barry's World

May (21) 2002:  Hello everyone, my name is Barry Melrose and welcome to the first addition of Barry's World.  On today's discussion we will be talking about Curtis Joseph, Fighting and a brand new affiliate to the GOHL.

Curtis Joseph of the Edmonton Oilers has recently been demoted to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL to what is being said as a conditioning program by Oilers management as Cujo, apparently had to much fun at the Owner's birthday bash a few days ago.

"Yea Curtis, had a bit to much too much BBQ at the party, and put on some weight.  He hasn't been up to par the first 2 games of the season, so we sent him down to get his act together.  In no way does this mean Cujo is on the block though" said Oilers management.

Now I'm not sure what to believe, but to me this seems like a whole bunch of rooster droppings.  I think Cujo and General Manager Don Cherry (BOB) just don't get along, and Bob is punishing Joseph for not bring a gift to the party.  Time will tell, what develops in this relationship down the road, however I for one think he will be dealt.

On another topic, it seems as if fights are back in a bundle so far this season, and fans all over the GOHL are loving it, and am I.

To bigger news, its seems as if the GOHL has given birth a minor league affiliate that will feature all the young talent that will be drafted into the GOHL, called the CJHL.

"Basically, this is going to be a great opportunity for scouts of every organization to get a better look at the players of the future in the league" said GOHL President Papadopoulos "To have a league were all the players under the age of 20 can play is just awesome.  When players get drafted by there selected team, instead of going to the AHL league to develop, they would be sent back the Jr. league to finish there remaining time."

For GOHL, I'm Barry Melrose, and I have the greatest hair in the world.
